IIt is my great honor and profound responsibility to serve as the Honorary President of the Korea Journalist lifelong Educational Institute.

For the past fifteen years, our institute has contributed to establishing a fair and upright media culture through the Journalist Academy, nurturing the practice of truthful writing and promoting public journalism among awakened citizens.

At present, South Korea remains the only democratic nation without an officially recognized university dedicated to journalism. In the absence of governmental initiatives, it is the citizens themselves who have taken the noble step forward to advance democracy.

Fostering a new generation of journalists grounded in truth, integrity, and public service is more crucial now than ever before. In an era when information flows rapidly and media environments evolve ceaselessly, ethical journalism stands as the very heart of a healthy society.

We dedicate ourselves to ensuring that aspiring journalists acquire not only technical competence but also civic responsibility and critical thinking.

Through rigorous education, media literacy programs, and cooperative partnerships with journalism institutions around the world, we strive—though we may be humble citizens—to uphold the highest standards of the journalistic profession..

Let us move forward together to defend freedom of the press, pursue accuracy in factual reporting, and strengthen the voice that supports democracy.
